Seed of Fortune Gives 50 Female Students Technology Training

The Seed of Fortune Ghana has recently provided a special technology training programme for 50 female students in Koforidua.

The programme focused on education technology, business skills, and a Girls Start-Up Competition to help young women develop practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

Key Takeaway to Seed of Fortune Training

  • Fifty female students were trained in technology and entrepreneurship to help them build a bright future in business and education.

Empowering Girls Through Technology Training

The Seed of Fortune Ghana is working hard to support young girls in Koforidua by teaching them valuable technology and business skills.

As part of this effort, they organised an intensive training programme for around 50 female students from different schools. The training aimed to equip the girls with the tools they need to succeed in today’s digital and business world.

The schools that participated in the programme included Oti Boateng Senior High School, Oyoko Methodist Senior High School, and Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS).

The programme covered key areas such as setting up an email account, learning the proper way to communicate through email, and even developing business ideas. The girls were also taught how to build their own websites, which is an important skill in the modern business world.

This training gave the students the confidence and skills they need to start thinking about their future careers and business ideas.

Girls Start-Up Competition

One of the most exciting parts of the programme was the Girls Start-Up Competition. This competition allowed the students to put what they had learned into practice. Lady Juliet Nyarko Adansi, the Country Lead for Seed of Fortune Ghana, explained that the girls were judged based on their ability to come up with creative and innovative business ideas that could have a positive impact on their communities.

The students also had to show that they could create a well-designed website that would support their business idea. The competition was tough, with many students working hard to develop their best ideas and designs.

Prizes and Continuous Mentorship

To encourage the students to keep learning and improving, the best performers in the competition received tablets as prizes. These tablets will help the students continue practising their digital skills and developing their business ideas.

Lady Adansi said that the organisation believes in providing ongoing mentorship to the students. This means that the winners will get guidance as they use the skills they learned during the training to grow their entrepreneurial ventures.

“We believe in continuous mentorship, so the tablets given to the winners will help them continue their entrepreneurial journey as they build on the digital skills acquired,” Lady Adansi explained.

Encouraging the Students to Keep Learning

Lady Adansi also encouraged the students to make regular use of their schools’ Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs. By spending more time practising the skills they learned, the girls will be able to improve even more.

These ICT labs offer the tools and space for students to continue working on their business ideas, building websites, and honing their technology skills.

It’s important for the students to stay motivated and keep practising so that they can fully take advantage of the opportunities available to them.

Seed of Fortune Ghana’s Mission

Seed of Fortune Ghana is a non-profit organisation that was founded by Nitiya Walker. It has been operating in the United States for over 10 years and has now extended its support to Ghana.
